Original Picture.
Overall
I painted this penguin on a plastic sled.
Close up of face.
Close up of beak.
Close up of an eye.
Here's a picture of the article they did on me for the town newspaper.
The Auction
Here is a picture taken at the auction of Ozzie Ohl holding my sled and telling the bidders about it and me. Also my sled is going to be the logo for the Georgia Hanford sledding hill, and they will also be making T-shirts with "chilly willy" on them :) I will definitley be buying one, and I will post a picture of it when I get the shirt :) (This picture was also in the Globe Gazette on 12/15/12.) One more thing! My sled was auctioned off for 150$
Exceeds.
Waldorf.
My exceedings painting is of a picture a man emailed me. We met at the Harvest Festival and he took an interest in one of my paintings (http://arndttooshabby.weebly.com/exceeds-second-semester.html) He then asked me if I'd be willing to do a painting of a picture his friend had taken, and I said I'd love to. So he emailed me the picture and this is the result. He bought this painting for 145$
Reflection
1. Describe: What is your project? What materials did you use to
make it? How long did it take you to make?
- My painting is a penguin painted on a sled. I used a power sander to sand down the sled, acrylic paint and white spray paint. it took me about two class periods
2. Evaluate: What are the good / strong parts of your project?
What is done well and why?
- I think the good/ strong parts of my painting is the background because the spray paint gives is a wintery/snowy effect.
3. Evaluate: What do you think you could have done better on
this project and why?
- I think I could have done better on getting the beak to look like it's smiling a little more because in the actual picture you can definitley tell he's smiling but in my painting it's a little harder.
4. Describe the attributes of your theme / unity:
- My theme is winter fun.
5. What are the important elements? Why do you believe those are
the most important?
- I believe color and line are most important because the colors on the penguin make it pop out and the lines keep it in place.
6. What are the important principles? Why do you believe those are
the most important?
- I would have to say unity and proportion are the most important principles in my painting because it wouldnt' have turned out the way I wanted it to if it wasnt in proportion, and unity brings the proportion and everything else together to make it beautiful.
7.What did you learn from this project that you could apply to other projects in the future? What lessons could be applied to life in general? Why?
- I learned that if you want to get paint to stick to plastic you need to sand it down first. I can apply that to life because if I want to stick to something I might need to make some adjustments to make that possible.
